Milano, february 15th 2013 – Imagine a better scenario to present an event such as the World Championship Offshore Sailing ORCi 2013 was really difficult.
During the International Tourism Exchange in Milan, one of the most important international fair, within the stand of region Marche, active as ever in the promotion through events of global significance, the ORCi World Championship 2013 was presented this morning.
Sport, tourism and promotion: these are the key elements that will characterize this important sailing event planned in Ancona from June 21st to June 29th.
On stage, there has been a lively talk show, during which the guest declined the many elements of special and exceptional nature of this event.
First to talk was the President of Regione Marche and Secretary of Tourism Gian Mario Spacca: “A heartfelt thanks to the organizers of this great sailing event who wanted to convey the Riviera del Conero to the attention of the sailing world, the culture of the sea and certainly the many who will be caught by the beauty of our nature. Conero will be featured at the beginning of summer. We are confident that the proactive approach of this event, which will showcase Regione Marche in the world emphasizing its great organizational skills, will mark a major success and will become a powerful tool of communication and promotion of the image of our region”.
Perfect host was the RAI journalist, Paul Notari, who skillfully managed to mix emotions and technicalities assisted by his guests: the President of Marina Dorica, organizer of the ORCi World Championship, Moreno Clementi, Alberto Rossi, twice ORCi World Champion, who will try to defend his title on home waters, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and Tommaso Chieffi, an Italian sailing legend.
With his guests, Notari probed all aspects of the World, which presents itself as a unique opportunity to learn about Regione Marche.
“We need only to think of that on the starting line we will have something like 130 boats – pointed out Alberto Rossi – In the entry list we have already more than eighty units, representing thirteen countries and three continents: an international context makes it clear the importance for Ancona and Regione Marche to host these days of racing”.
There will be two race courses for the dispute of the races, with the one of Passetto ready to impress the audience that can follow the event from a unique point of view.
Chieffi, a very famous italian sailor involved in some America’s Cup campaign and in the Olympics, has pointed out that Marche is a place with a great sailing culture.
“Not only tourism and sport, however as important levers to be assigned to the event, but also a strong drive in an economic time that needs to be shaken” these are the words pronounced by Clementi Moreno, ensuring that all the staff at Marina Dorica will work to create an event both at sea and on the doc able to leave the sailors and the guests – two thousand visitors are attended – an indelible memory.
